About
Taking pictures for over 35 years, photography for me began in 1977 when, as a 7 year old, my Father gave me his old 1952 Brownie 127. It was a simple bakelite camera for 127 film and taught me how to frame a picture. A love of photography began...

On my 13thbirthday I received my first SLR camera, an aperture priority Pentax which taught me depth of field, and from there on I had a number of cameras, each one teaching me something new, including a basic medium format.

While at Bishop Gore School in Swansea I took photographs of school events and for three years I worked in Ffototec photography shop with Mike Collier FRPS. During this period my knowledge levels, thanks to Mike’s tutelage, increased to the point where I seriously considered photography at University. Disappointingly I took what was considered the more academic path and did a BA (Hons) in Political Theory followed by an MSc (Econ) in European Politics and Psephology at Swansea University and have since worked in the public sector in Wales.

In June 2011 I gained my LRPS distinction with the Royal Photographic Society.
